Random

In couple of months, wouldn't I write in this space it just meant ONE year of shear neglect. Hmmm…. I blame Mr FB for that. It has taken all the glory on updates about Nada’s antiques, my past time favorites, our family stories bla-bla-bla. Hehehehe… what a lame excuse. But today, I feel like blabbering.. on random things.
  • Alhamdulillah, I’d don the headscarf on Harris’s 43rd’s birthday last year December,27. O Allah, please guide me.
Hi-Tea at Hyatt in celebration of our little family only boy's birthday.
  • My beloved grandmother, Mok had a mild stroke early this year. She fell in the bathroom. I was devastated.

           -         Once got the news, I can say.. almost ALL, ALL of the family members from near                       and far drove, flew, swam (err…) back home to see her. We gathered around her,                       we talked to her, we cried near her.... together. I’m proud of my big family.
-          She eventually ‘recovered’ but not fully. She now has short term memory which is so not her just a year ago. Sometimes, she remembers my name. Many times she forgets. It breaks my heart every time, for I’m a self proclaimed her favorite grand daughter!
-          Recently, she gave me 16 sets of her baju kurung all nicely paired and folded in plastic wraps. Reason – those kurongs are now too big for her that she has lost weight and in a way shrunk due to ageing. Those kurongs suit me well.. I know, I'm always her favorite grand daughter.
-        Now, at any possible opportunity we have - we will go back home to visit Mok. We here means, my whole big family.
I love these colorful photos of may be just 1/8 of my cousins taken during 2013 Raya at Mami's house. Many times, people tell stories of how close they are with their brothers and sisters. Not many however, can describe their cousins like my family do.
  • We threw Nada the first birthday party (which actually deserve an entry on it's own) she ever had at Jungle Gym Bangsar. My favourite girl is 6!

She was excited about the party, she didn't mind at all to make her own invitation card,

helped with the making of goody bags.

  • ·         Nada is soon to start ‘real’ school in 2015. Yikes! Really? She’s gonna be 7? S.e.v.e.n?
  •         My cousin Ika married in March.
and I was entrusted to make the flower girls dresses.

  •   Then another cousin, Shasha got married in May. They are same age and both are now preggars.

I made Nada a special dress to wear for Shasha’s wedding.

  • Ika’s two younger sisters, Nina and Mira got engaged. Both in August. It will be a busy year again next year for us.
  • Mira’s engagement was held in my cousin, Feby whom is Mira’s other sister living near us in Ampang. Since my family somehow, is fond of cooking for our own family affairs, it was decided cooking to be done at our home. Hence, we were the co-host for Mira’s engagement dos.
  • We went for a holiday trip in Krabi last April.

  • I so love travelling and totally agree with Diyanazman, that travelling is the only thing that you buy and makes you richer. Even if one invest on a property, one remains 'poor' until one sell the property off.
  • For the love of travelling – we’re planning for another family trip upcoming October. Oh – I’m so excited
  • Speaking about travelling, my most-trusted-sought-after aunt, Busu and her husband are now in their most sacred travel, being one of the selected ones to perform Hajj this year. I pray for their health and may they be rewarded with Jannah.
  • Harris and I celebrated our 10th year wedding Anniversary last August, 20th.  It’s been fancy years living with this man so far. I love him.
  • I sure made few handmade dresses for Ms Dew in the last 8 months or so, which I'll put up photos later if I have the time.

grumbling

At times, I do wish that I am not such an independent person.

At times, I do want to see myself less 'smart' and hope somebody else takes the lead.

At times, at times, at times...

Unhappy

I’m loosing it.
Loosing the interest in my office works, and I do feel perturbed by the fact. So stressful, I don’t know to whom should I talk to.
Tonite, I am going glue myself to Lady Gaga – my ever trusted companion and cry to her.

She and her imagination

An unfortunate incident happened to my family last Saturday. My aunt’s house was broke in and the culprit whom could be depressed because he/she couldn’t find anything to his/her liking that he/she decided to burn down the house. Isn’t that so pathetic?

My aunt was away in Penang, she had to rush back home upon receiving the emergency call from concerned neighbours that the house was on fire. Of course, once she arrived, the fire was already put down by fire fighters, with signs of breaking in from roof top and a left opened back door. Though aggrieved with the mishap, I am grateful that my aunt and uncle are safe.

Receiving the bad news, my cousin just had to fly back to check out on her parents. Since, it would be a quick trip, she went back alone. Hence, for a while the children came over to our place for play dates.

Children conversations, I over heard :
+   Kakk Izz : Rumah Ibu Tok terbakar, kakak jadi doktor, abang jadi Bomba. (Grandma’s house on fire, I want to be a doctor and Bro Aqil is the fire fighter.)
+   Abang Aqil : Alllllllaaaaa….. Abang la doctor.. Kakak jadi Bomba (oh noooooo… I want to be the doctor, you are the fire fighter…)
+   Kakak Izz : Okayyyylaaaaaa….. Nada? Nak jadi apa. ( Nada? What do you want to be?)
+   Nada : Nada nak jadi Superman. Boleh pusing-pusing.. tiup asap!!! (I want to be Superman. Can spin around and blow off smoke!!!)

TOING ! my daughter and her wildest dream…

I hope they'll forever be close and loving to each other.

Nada loves to draw, though her drawings aren’t necessarily justifiable in our naked eyes

This is train or shinkansen (too excited for Japan?) with Mommy, Daddy all inside and she’s at the driver’s seat mending the steering wheel !

This is Princess with big eyes, multi-colored hair, frolicking under passing blue clouds.

And this one… I asked : “Ni apa Nada ?” (What's this Nada?)
She answered : “Ooooo…. Ni TV rosak… No service!”

Waaa… I was so pissed off ! sometimes ASTRO  can be extremely annoying with No Service tagline. Really got cut off in the anxiousness of Bree, Gaby and Lynette in Desperate Housewives last night. What did they see in the woods?

Updates

Hie.. Owh, it's been a while. Wonder if there's anyone still reading.

It has been a stressful stretch of weeks starting March for us here. My blood preasure had been escalating up extreme and down extreme as well. We finally managed to sort out our purchase of this property, though our earlier plan didn't work out it's way. 'Thanks' to the solicitor of whom, would he had taken necessary required steps.... our life is much less terrible for almost 2 months. Until now he is still frying in a dry wok! The money still hasn't come in to us.. and for us whom are salaried staffs to fork out 30% of purchase price for a landed property in Ampang .. it's very taxing!

Alhamdulillah.. after digging out all the money we had, selling all the bulu-bulu ketiak.... it's done. And now, Mek is dreaming of a renovation though SEN pun tarak!
Long been the sketch in my drafting book :

Waaaa.... ada hati nak buat attic play room untuk Nada and a sexy hanging light for double volume dining area! "A dream is a wish... your heart makes.." Let me be please, though I know my account statement is laughing at me.

I hope we could make it one day.

Other stories which I wish not pass my blog space are of course Nada's antics. Two days back, I switched channel from Disney 610 to TV3 for 8.00pm news. She complaint saying : "Alaaaahhhh... Mommy ni, I don't like this one, RAKYAT-KERAJAAN.."
I laughed hard for I'm pretty sure she didn't even know what RAKYAT and KERAJAAN means. But then, for a four year to pick up these two words among millions of words she heard on the news.. I must say, it is a 'boring' issue we've been hearing.
I told her ... "Ya.. Mommy don't like too but Mommy must watch, if not Mommy don't know what is Big Mama doing!" :). She looked at me, puzzled - What crapt is Mommy talking?
Hehehehehe ... Kids - they say the darndest things.

I love Nada so much, but when she became a "Makcik".. I want to gobble her. You see, I accidentally broke a teapot and she came running to the kitchen scolding me like a real pro!..
"I tell you already.. Hold two hands! Like this, like this... " showing off with her two hands holding her plastic plate.
Then I said.. "Ok, you don't tell Daddy.. ya!"
She dare to say.. "No, I must tell Daddy.."
Just when Daddy opened the house door after work... It's the first thing she did!... Kaypo reporter! haish.
I got the broken teapot as a gift for my wedding and never realize what's at the bottom until it can no longer be used.
For goodness sake, I know imitation is an offense. But PIE RAT inreplacement of PYREX? Waaa.......
so inappropriate ok!
Have a nice day, peeps.

Bruce Lee’s The Big Boss Flying Kick

Have you watch The Big Boss movie starred by the legendary Late Bruce Lee? I am not quite sure if I had watched or otherwise. I should have watched many donkey years ago when I was small for I think I have vague images of the movie scenes here and there.

Anyway, National Geography channel has been repeating in airing the documentary about Bruce Lee during the couple of weeks as we entered new Lunar Year of water dragon. So happened, Bruce Lee was also born the in year of dragon.

The Big Boss movie was one of his successful movies and of cause I am attracted to his flying kicks. I wish I could the same, but my overweight BMI would need thousands hours of work-out for me to be able to do so, which seems definitely an impossible.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Harris and I are now in the process of procuring a property in Bukit Indah, Ampang. Securing a property is a total head ache and heart ache!
In my experience, I have never experience a smooth sailing process. It had always been a total mess.

Hence, would I known how to Bruce Lee’s The Big Boss Flying Kick :
  1. In 2003, when procuring our first property I would  Bruce Lee’s The Big Boss Flying Kick THE DEVELOPER for they are the biggest ASS-HOLE-STINKING-LIAR.
  1. In 2007, when procuring our second property I would  Bruce Lee’s The Big Boss Flying Kick THE CONTRACTOR for being SUCH-INFURIATING-NO-BRAIN-CREATURE.
  1. In 2010, when procuring our third property (an auction) I would  Bruce Lee’s The Big Boss Flying Kick THE VENDOR for causing all the delayed in documentation security and spread stories around the apartment I’m living that I am the one who have problem with Credit Facility. *swearing*  #%&^#@(^^^%$##$@&^  *stop*   @#$!&^%#()$$%^^#$%?????@#$%^<%%& *continue swearing non-stop*
  1. NOW in the midst of procuring our fourth property I would like to Bruce Lee’s The Big Boss Flying Kick THE SOLICITORS !!!!! for being SLOWER-THAN-THE-SLOWEST-WALKING-SLOW LORIS.
Ah….. Lega sikit dah merapu macam ni.

Kids and EQ

Many times I have this feeling that I want something that much but I feel people just don’t get it or not align with me in getting things done. It could happen at work, at home anywhere. Recently, it got to me and I really could not hold it any longer. I broke down to tears out of frustration and agitation.

Nada was puzzled looking at me crying, she came to me and asked few times.. “Kenapa Mommy nangis?”

I didn’t answer her but I didn’t want her to feel bad or thought that she’s got anything to do with it. So, I picked her up, put on my lap and just hugged her. Somehow, she too had watery eyes and eventually rolled down her cheeks with no sound.

Kids! They all start with good EQ within their own self.. Nada wanted to show me her compassion towards my grievances.

I didn’t want it to prolong, so I companied her for noon nap.

Lucky me that I now have a good hobby to distract me from stress, agitation, angriness and whatever negative ‘nouns’ to focus on something worth it. Yup! It’s sewing. While Nada took her noon nap, I spent the time in my tiny corner with Lady Gaga. All that makes me sick at that point in time just vanished for all I wanted was to finish the pretty dress.

... Mom of owner of the dress had chosed for Basket with fruits button. Cute stuff!

I was still stuck with Lady Gaga when Nada woke up from her about an hour noon nap. She came straight to me and again asked…. “Mommy, why you crying?.. why you crying?” (now in English.. maybe she thought I didn’t understand her the first round. J.)

Mommy - “It’s nothing..”

Nada – “Mommy, you scare? Tak pe.. Nada cry…!”

Again, Kids! They all start with good EQ within their own self … Nada wanted to tell me “It’s okay to cry when you need to because other people cry too.”

Aidilfitri wish and ramblings

The saying goes : Better late than never!

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri to muslim visitor(s). :)....... Syawal is yet to end anyway..
Also, I sincerely seek apologies from all for my wrongdoings, be it my physical actions or if there's any part of my writings here that hurts anyone, anywhere.
When I meant all that write in this space, it however never meant to hurt anyone.

I'm feeling a little bit 'down' at the moment and it's bad that I'll be having a presentation to Datuk Raja Nong Chik tomorrow. Hmmm..

For some reason, I couldn't attach the photos to an e-mail that I want to send. Mafusio!

Still, it's not the real reason to my gloom. I'm questioning my decisions and wonder "When are we going to make a move and stay in our house?" "Why are we so slow and there're always setbacks?"

God, please make this one a smooth ride. Please, please , please.

No, not my house. Am responsible for the house renovation design. How can this not make me wonder. We're of the same age from the same school. She has a beautiful house, gorgeous slim figure and FIVE kids!!!

Being an architect sucks!

The wishlist... :(

Early this year, I have three items in my wish list for 2010 in no particular order. To renovate our Puncak Jalil house, to get an MPV and to berlibur in London and Paris if not part Europe. They all require thick packs in my pocket or rather said my bank account need to show many zeros in front of the decimal points.. not after!
Though, I already work like a horse… it seems still not enough, we may only choose one.

Our Puncak Jalil house is as it was when we received Vacant Possession in August last year. The only different would be, it is without TNB meter now! Dah kena curik. I am not so sure what is holding us back from proceeding with the renovation. Harris is comfortable with our current address. Near to his work place and easy access to mine.

Getting an MPV is a dream preparation should we are blessed with a new addition to the family. However, the trials aren’t showing any success thus far. I’ve been shoving 400mg Folic Acid every day my eyes are turning yellow. (Errrr…. Itu Mek bikin gempak je) I guess, we’ll be reducing our account figure and contributing to Dr Ishak’s account soon for the ‘see-doctor-to-get-baby’ regime.
Sigh – this is so depressing and reading news on baby dumping makes me real sick, you know what I mean…

London and Paris is far reach. It is August now, soon would not be so good seasons for visiting.

Ahhhh… punah ranah segala harapanku.

Long silence and activities

OOOOhhh, dah lama betul tak update blog ni. Luckily I do not forget my password! Life has been pretty hectic, with endless load of office works and also trying to slot in a couple of aside jobs. What to do..... Mek tidak dilahirkan dengan sudu perak, got to work extra hard for few extra grant.

Nada's Nanny is away for her balik kampung in Medan. She told us, she might go back for 10 to 14 days. I guess that is sensible as she has not gone back for about two years to see her family. It has been 12 days and I really hope she would return.
The first day she was not around, I brought Nada to office and my boss 'loan' his maid to me to look after my girl.

.... like a tuition class, after my boss's children came to office too at 3pm till 6 accompanying Nada!

Then after until tomorrow, I am lucky to have my cousin Shasha who is in her uni semester break to help babysitting. Though Nada cries like a 'mad' girl every morning as we leave home for office, she settles down few minutes after as per reported by Shasha.

However, until tomorrow I am still clueless of where? whom? how? would I arrange Nada to be taken care since Shasha is going back tomorrow night and starting her semester soon. Berdenyut kepala Mek!

Okeh-okeh... Aside of all these busy and clutter life I am going through right now, lets talk about something joyfull - at least to me.

All said with below photos... I've been tailoring dressess to keep me sane.

Dress 1 - I call it Tartan Pleat Dress

Dress 2 - Tie a Green Ribbon Dress

Dress 3 - Bareback Shirring Dress

Dress 4 - Reversible Tier Twirl Dress

Dress 5 - Beachcomber Dress (from Daddy's undershirt)... uh! Dew is super cute in this, I've yet to transfer photos of her.

There goes, few more 'under construction' and more fabric waiting!

Having these dressess, I have a special note for my dear friend, Toughcookie.

Dear Juan,

I meant one of the dressess numbered 1, 2 & 3 for Jada as a gift for her coming 2nd birthday soon. They may not be as gorgeous as the lines that she's having but rest assured... each one is unique. Well, it's handmade.....

I couldn't make up my mind which one to be gifted to her, I thought there would be no one better than you to choose. Furthermore, I came to understand that you seems to prefer choosing a gift so it will be to your liking (harap ada yang disuka!)... and hopefully will still be pleasantly surprised once received.

The Tartan Pleat Dress could be tat bit too long for petite Jada now. Tie a Green Ribbon Dress and Bareback Shirring Dress were 'test drive' to Nada like these :

She's picking Mommy's balcony pot flowers....
Nada viewing Jada's on phone video.
Promise : Only 'test drive' ............. never worn. So TC, leave me your mailing address in my FB inbox should you sudi to accept this gift on behalf of Jada.
with Love : Mario
